All for the Love of Lacrosse

A chilly Wednesday night.  Kids were milling about on the turf.  Cold parents huddled on Rancho Bernardo High School's concrete bleachers, focused on three figures below.

"Rancho Bernardo.  Poway.  We're cross-town rivals in so many sports.  So why are we standing here before you today?" asked Matt Hunt, program manager for Rancho Bernardo Youth Lacrosse.  The "we" in question were Lance Goulet, president of Poway Youth Lacrosse, and Anastasia Farrell, program manager for Girls Junior Lacrosse of Poway.

"We're here because we love lacrosse," Hunt continued.

Rancho Bernardo Youth Lacrosse hosts annual pre-spring-season beginner lacrosse clinics.  This year, Poway Youth Lacrosse and Girls Junior Lacrosse of Poway were invited to take part. All three programs are committed to growing the game in the RB-Poway community, and are willing to join forces to make that happen.  "It's so important for kids to play sports," said Farrell.  "Lacrosse is great because you can start playing in middle school and still be a dynamo on the field."

If your child wants to be a dynamo on the field, all three programs still have open registration.  Rancho Bernardo Youth Lacrosse is welcoming boys & girls in the 1st thru 8th grades; Poway Youth Lacrosse registration is open to boys 1st - 8th grade; and Girls Junior Lacrosse of Poway welcomes girls K-8th grade.  Please see each program's website for more information.
